Thinking Vs. Feeling

Thinker
As a practice, BodyJuggling has nothing to do with thinking and everything to do with feeling.  The reason for this is simple.  BodyJuggling is about the cultivation of presence and boundless awareness.  Thinking is impossible in the present moment.  Thinking is always reflection on the past or projection of the future.  Feeling, on the other hand, always takes place in the present.  Even if one is remembering something from the past the feeling is experienced in the present moment.

Thought is not wrong or bad and neither is the "monkey mind" created by it's patterns.  Thought is merely a tool, like a hammer.  A hammer is very effective if you are attempting to build a dog house.  But, what if you are trying to assemble a bicycle?  Not so helpful.   If the only tool a person had was a hammer there would only be a small number of problems they would be capable of handling.  What would he or she do when there was a problem with their taxes or their spouse?  All they would be capable of is banging or prying on things.

Thought works the same way.  It is very effective at calculations, organization, cataloging, dividing, separating, etc.  But thought cannot touch your purpose or your being. Thought cannot tell you that you have a stomach ache or that your throat is getting sore.  This is the realm of feeling.

Thought is not effective in trying to understand ourselves because it cannot see beyond itself, it cannot see into the present moment.  Presence is receptive where as thought is projective.  Input vs. output.

On the other side of the spectrum we have feeling. Feeling is the awareness of sensation.  Feeling is the truth of the moment.  Feeling is our direct connection to what is happening inside.  Feeling is holistic and unified.  BodyJuggling uses feeling/awareness to keep ourselves grounded in the present.  No matter how we place ourselves on the ball the sensations of trying to find our balance keep us connected to the body.  When the body and mind are unified an entire universe of information and awareness becomes available to us.  A simple example of this can be found in the fact that an average person in waking life cannot feel or hear their own heartbeat.  But, an average person in even a mild meditative state can often feel the pressure of thier heart beat all over their body and can often hear it as a distinctive internal pulse.

Meditation is quite simply the harmonization of the body's resonant frequency with that of the mind.  When these two frequencies are harmonious all internal struggle evaporates, creating a mental and physiological enviroment which recalibrates and balances itself.

The ball is merely a tool to unify the frequencies of the mind and body in the present moment.

Truth,

SaTek
